Several years ago I was looking for an alternative to coffee. I was in the early stages of my chronic pelvic pain journey and learned to avoid coffee during ovulation and the start of my period. Drinking it during these times would increase the already debilitating pain I was experiencing. There is something so yummy about starting your day with a warm, creamy beverage that I was determined to find something that would satisfy the craving. There are several brands out there that sell great alternatives but I enjoy the fun of creating my own. I like tailoring things to my liking, especially when it comes to food and beverages.
Before we jump into the recipe, let me start by saying that I dislike measuring and following recipes. My style of cooking and creating rely heavily on my intuition and what feels right for me. The “recipe” I’m sharing today is simply a starting point for you to be more creative and in tune with your own body. Think of it as me sharing tools that you can pick up and use in whatever way works best for you.
