As women, we get so caught up in our appearance. We believe we have to be rail thin to be considered sexy or beautiful. The media plays a large part in this but also people in our family can ingrain the notion that thin is good, fat is bad. Most times, comments made by family members while we are young plant the seeds of the skewed view we have of ourselves. We grow up with a fear and or anxiety of food, leading to eating disorders and the feelings of never being good enough. It's all shit. We have to eat to live. And for those who are passionate about food, like me, we love to eat! Having guilt every time we eat is not healthy. We swallow it with each bite and allow it to live within us. We need to realize that being stick thin is not the answer to all our problems. We need to embrace and honor the feminine body. When you look at ancient sculptures, the female figure is full and voluptuous. It's beautiful. We're beautiful, no matter what size we are. Most of us tell ourselves that we're fat all-day-long. I'm guilty of it too. It's all shit though. It's all a bunch of old stupid crap that was once or many times said to us and over time we believed it to be true. As we go deeper on our journey, we continue to peel off the layers that no longer serve us. This is a hard one to tear off but let's grab it and pull fast. Just think, if we weren't so consumed with food anxieties and poor body image what would we think about? We would have so much extra time in our minds to think thoughts that uplift us instead of thoughts drag us down. Honor the body you have. It's our vehicle for this life and we can't go trade it in for a new one. Let's learn to love every inch of ourselves.
