"I want to be perfect for you." I said this to my boyfriend a couple of months ago during a heated discussion we were having. I've always struggled (like I've said in previous posts) with striving for perfection. I want to be the best. I want to be perfect. His response was in fact perfect. He said I don't need to be. He went on to say that he wasn't perfect so why would he expect me to be. It all hit me at that moment. I stopped and put it all into perspective. Like I've come to find out in life, no one is perfect, no matter how hard they try to curate the most beautiful Instagram posts. Everyone has something they are going through. Fast forward to a recent conversation I had with a friend about relationships. She spoke of her husband and said how much she loved him and how perfect they were for each other despite some things that weren't so perfect. Again, it felt like a light bulb went off when the words flowed from her mouth. Neither of you have to be perfect to be perfect for each other. Whether it is struggles or strengths, you can help each other, teach each other, learn from each other and though it all, love each other.
